Forbes' latest list of the richest people in America is out and 9 total Austinites hit the list! (Including, of course, Elon Musk.)
Let’s see, Austin, looks like a casual $310M in funding activity and $1.5 billion in M&A for the week, you should probably check out the highlights below…
Austin Funding Activity
Bloom Nutrition, an Austin-based healthy drink supplement company, received an additional $160M from Austin-based Nutrabolt, who makes energy drinks and other supplements. In January 2024, Nutrabolt also led a $90M investment round in Bloom, taking a 20% stake in the business at the time.
Harbor Health, a primary and specialty care clinic group and health insurance company, raised $130M in a deal led by 8VC, Alta Partners, and General Catalyst with participation from Breyer Capital and others. $235M raised to date.
AxonIQ, a Netherlands-based startup with leadership in Austin, is developing a platform for AI infrastructure that uses audit trails and data coordination to create autonomous AI agents at scale, raised $18M in funding and named two Austin area tech entrepreneurs to its leadership team. The startup appointed Jessica Reeves, former COO of Austin-based AI company Anaconda, as CEO. It named Barry Libert, former Anaconda chairman and CEO, as its chairman.
Loman AI, a developer of voice AI phone agents for restaurants, raised $4.12M in a Seed round led by Next Coast Ventures with participation from Antler, TenOneTen Ventures, and others. $4.12M raised to date.
Vida, a developer of AI phone agents, raised $4M in a Series A round from undisclosed investors. $10.13M raised to date.
PrimeAI, a developer of enterprise AI software and agents for operations, sales, and supply chain, raised $1.75M in a Seed round from undisclosed investors. $5.10M raised to date.
Austin M&A Activity
Haveli Investments, an Austin-based private equity firm founded by former Vista Equity Partners co-founder Brian Sheth, acquired Bay Area data platform Couchbase Inc. It's an all-cash deal valued at $1.5B. The move will take Couchbase private and delist it from Nasdaq, and shareholders will get $24.50 per share of common stock.
HireBetter, a recruiting firm known for its Strategic Talent Planning methodology, was acquired by 512Financial for an undisclosed amount.
EqualizeRCM, an Austin-based medical billing and revenue cycle management company acquired the assets of Pittsburgh-based Revenue Cycle Solutions LLC for an undisclosed amount.
Greater Texas Market
Talon Capital (Houston), completed its special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) IPO on NASDAQ on September 10, 2025, raising $249 million through the sale of 24.9 million units at $10.00 per unit. The blank check company targets energy and power businesses
Paladin Drones (Houston), a developer of drone-based public safety systems, raised $17.01M from undisclosed investors. $34.66M raised to date.
MineralWare (Fort Worth), a provider of mineral and royalty management software, raised $5M from undisclosed investors. $13.33M raised to date.
Avelo (Houston), a low-fare airline, raised an undisclosed amount from undisclosed investors. $193.46M raised to date.
Otovo (Houston), a provider of AI-enabled home energy services, raised $4M in a venture funding round led by EIC Rose Rock. $4M raised to date.
Austin News
Dell Technologies Inc. CFO Yvonne McGill will step down from her role today after spending nearly 30 years with the company. Dell also announced McGill’s replacement on an interim basis will be David Kennedy, senior vice president of Dell's global business operations. McGill will stay on as an adviser through the third quarter of 2026 while the company conducts a comprehensive search for a permanent CFO.
BilliontoOne Inc., a biotech / diagnostics company (DNA testing / lab work) is investing $44.5 million to build a new lab facility in North Austin, near the Samsung fab site.
Halcyon, an Austin-based anti-ransomware platform, hired Tony Spinelli, former CTO at Urban One Inc., as a VP and field chief information security officer. In addition to Urban One, Spinelli has high level experience at Capital One, Tyco International, Equifax and First Data Corporation. Halcyon, led by co-founder and CEO Jon Miller, raised a $100M series B in November 2024 at a $1B valuation.
Measured, an Austin-based AI-powered marketing platform, named Mike Finnell as senior VP of marketing and Andy Dubickas as VP of strategic partnerships. Finnell was previously VP of global demand generation at Iterable. Dubickas was most recently a partner at Aperiam. Measured, led by co-founder and CEO Trevor Testwuide, was founded in 2017 and has raised $21M, according to Crunchbase.
