According to a report by ABJ this week, Austin is cleaning up when it comes to state incentives for semiconductor manufacturing and design.

Companies in the capital and its environs account for 82% of the $413 million in grants announced to date by the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF). Much of that chunk comes from Samsung's $250 million award for a fabrication plant in Taylor, but it also includes a vibrant group of Austin-based chip designers, materials suppliers, workforce programs, and research facilities.

Up in Dallas, the startup known as the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) is poised for its big debut tomorrow. “Y’all Street” will begin with a phased rollout, advancing from limited tests to broader trading activity over this month. The exchange plans to make corporate listings available by the fourth quarter.

Austin

  • Wander, a provider of luxury vacation home rentals with hotel-grade amenities, raised $64.1M in a Series B led by QED Investors and Fifth Wall with participation from Snow Leopard Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Authentic Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and others. $222.26M raised to date.
